The Internet, which has become an indispensable element of our daily lives, keeps the concept of “computer security” on the agenda with more importance and priority than ever before due to the great benefits it provides in use and the serious risks created by individuals and groups who do not have good intentions.
Within the framework of Law No. 5651 on “Regulation of Broadcasts on the Internet and Combating Crimes Committed Through Such Broadcasts” and the Related Regulations, it has become an obligation for all institutions to control all internet traffic provided within the institutions, to filter those who have access to criminal content from the visited sites, and to keep and store the records of “Internal IP Distribution Logs”, the definition of which is made in Law No. 5651 and the regulations. Summary of the law on this issue (Official Gazette 26687);
- Obtaining permission from the local administrative authority.
- Taking measures to prevent access to criminal content.
- Using content filtering software approved by the Presidency.
- Obtaining and using fixed IPs from access providers.
- Recording Internal IP Distribution Logs electronically in their own systems.
- With the software provided by the Presidency, to record the information recorded pursuant to subparagraph (d) and the value confirming the accuracy, integrity and confidentiality of this information in their own systems on a daily basis and to store this data for one year.
Otherwise, serious legal sanctions are imposed on businesses.
